About Cloud Theatre

Theatre is not just about acting. It’s about having fun. Theatre can be about lighting design, staging, costuming, and building lifelong friendships. Are you interested in any facet of theatre? If so, theatre at Cloud County Community College is for you. At Cloud, the theatre community is small but active. That means you won’t need to wait a semester to perform, design costumes, or light the stage. You’ll be able to work on your theatrical passion right away. Theatre is about building communities, learning to express yourself, and developing critical thinking skills—values all employers look for. Just because you don’t go on to a career in the theatrical world, doesn’t mean that theatre can’t be a valuable part of your education. The skills and relationships you build in theatre will last a lifetime. Joining the theatre department allows you to be involved and make friends. Simply put, theatre is just a lot of fun!

Trips

At Cloud, we believe that your theatre education doesn't stop with your own on-stage experience. We want to make sure you have exposure to professional theatre experiences. Typically, we see one show off-campus per semester.

Cloud Theatre is proud to have attended KCACTF for the first time ever in 2019. KCACTF is a national program for theatre education excellence. At the festival itself students have the opportunity to compete in various areas of theatrical production, to study in workshop formats from amazing instructors and to view fully remounted college productions. There are also plenty of networking opportunities and auditions for summer programs and jobs. Follow our journey through our social media platforms!
