Assessment Committee Purpose

Purpose of the Assessment committee: The assessment committee coordinates all aspects of the assessment process at Cloud County Community College. 

The committee is comprised of faculty and deans and reviews the data from assessment of course, program/general education, and institutional learning outcomes for continuous improvement.  The committee is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the assessment processes in Canvas and the development of Program Review templates and timelines. 

 Assessment is a sub-committee of the Academic Affairs standing committee and all recommendations are reported through Academic Affairs for formal approval.

Assessment Committee Responsibilities

  • Meets monthly
  • Chaired by the Director of Assessment, Institutional Effectiveness, and Planning
  • Keeps a record of assessment discussion, activities, and decisions through meeting minutes available to all stakeholders.
  • Evaluates, refines, and expands procedures for the assessment of courses.
  • Monitors development and revision of course outcomes for all courses.
  • Evaluate the Program Review process and provide feedback on the effectiveness.
  • Manages the information provided in syllabi explaining assessment practices to students.
  • Maintains a timeline/calendar of assessment for current and future years.
  • Provides professional development and support for faculty regarding assessment.
  • Encourages faculty participation in assessment.
  • Provides oversight within departments of assessment practices.
  • Monitors faculty and department participation in assessment.
  • Reviews assessment data and collaborates with faculty and departments in making recommendations for improved practices.

The assessment committee is comprised of the department chair for each department or their designee, division deans, assessment director, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
