Cloud County Community College’s contents of the 1971 Sesquicentennial time capsule are now on display in the college’s Library.

 

The time capsule was buried at the base of the war hero statue in the Concordia City Park during the city of Concordia’s 100th celebration. The contents were presented to college President Amber Knoettgen by the Concordia Sesquicentennial Committee, and opened by Jennifer Schroeder, director of library services, on August 20.

 

Included in the package were:

 

  • Manila Envelope addressed by then President Arley Bryant (1965-1975)
  • Letter typed by President Arley Bryant titled “The Story of the Concordia Community College Report”
  • 1971-72 Board of Trustees
  • 1971-72 Faculty and Staff
  • The 1971-72 Budget and Financial Statement and Tax Levy for the Year 1971
  • 1971 College Yearbook
  • Department of Business Education Brochure
  • University Telenetwork Poster
  • 1971-1972 Student Handbook
  • Cloud County Community Junior College Dedication Ceremony Booklet (October 27, 1968)
