Biography

Dan began his college career right here at Cloud County Community College in the fall of 1975, as a student athlete. Dan played soccer and studied Pre-Engineering, during his time as a Thunderbird. 

He continued his education at Fort Hays State University where he studied Geology and Biology on his way to earning a BS in General Science in 1985.

Dan taught in the public school system for 25 years. He taught Junior High Math and Science for 2 years in Nortonville, Kansas and 9 years in Moscow, Kansas. He spent 13 years in the Concordia public schools and 1 year in Canton-Galva. During that time, his class load included such courses as 7th and 8th Grade Science, High School Physical Science and High School Physics. Along with teaching, Dan was a long time coach in football, volleyball, basketball, track, wrestling, and Quiz Bowl.

Dan returned to Cloud County Community College, in the summer of 2011, as an instructor in the Wind Energy program.  Wind energy runs in the family.  Dan’s son and daughter-in-law are wind turbine technicians.
