Here are some Internet retrieval sites you may want to try. Remember, each search tool is different, so if you don't find what you are looking for in one, try another. And, yes, there is a difference between subject directories and search engines.
Tip: check out the search tool's searching hints to narrow your search.
| Subject Directories | Search Engines |

A subject directory is a subject catalog to Web sites prepared by people who evaluate the web site, decide what is is about, and list it in the proper category.
Search engines index the text-contents of files at computers connected to the Internet, and present us with an interface for searching the databases; the indexed information is gathered by a machine, called a robot, spider, wanderer, or webcrawler.
