in the CDA Process
Apply for an information packet from the Council
Apply for CDA scholarship, if eligible
Prepare documentation:
- Formal
observation by eligible CDA advisor
- Written
competency statements and autobiography
- Professional
resource collection
- Parent
opinion questionnaires
Submit Direct Assessment Application with assessment fee ($325.00) to the Council
Be visited by CDA representative for the early childhood studies review and oral interview
Be notified of Council scores of
assessment

Help is
available to Kansas CDA Candidates through KCCTO, KACCRRA, the local Child Care
Resource & Referral Agencies, local Head Start/Early Head Start programs,
the Early Childhood Apprentice Program and a number of community colleges.
CDA candidates are encouraged to seek support and assistance through
these programs.

a CDA Application Packet is unavailable through a local program, one may be
obtained through the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition.
With the order include payment of $19.00, your name, address, phone
number, and your setting choice.
