Don Lambert, CCCC AlumnusJournalist, author, and arts’ advocate, Don Lambert (‘71), Clyde, who won the 2007 Arts Award, given by the National Governors’ Association. Don was one of two Americans and the first Kansan ever to be thusly honored. “Theatre helped get me through chores on the farm so I could go to town and rehearse whatever play we were doing. From those teenage days until today, theatre has continued to enrich and give meaning to my life.”

Jaime Fall (‘85), Jamestown,  is the Vice President for Workforce and Talent Development Policy for the HR Policy Association in Washington, DC. President Bill Clinton and Jaime FallFall formerly was Deputy Secretary of Work Force Development for the California Department of Labor under Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. “Drama at Cloud is a great way to develop skills that are critical to being a leader: how to communicate with an audience, stretching beyond your comfort zone, and self confidence. I look back on my Cloud theatre experiences with great memories and my participation in drama is a large part of that. I’ll be baaack.”

John Bates (‘85), Concordia, Vice President of retail banking for INTRUST Bank in Wichita, has worked for the company for 16 years – during which time he has been one of the busiest actors in Wichita. From his days as a singing waiter and actor in Kansas City, to a long list of roles in Wichita, John is able to balance his day job with his night job as performer. “I feel I am a successful manager of people and have found success in my banking career because of the lessons I learned early in my theatre experiences. . . . I was impressed with my theatre experiences at Cloud as I felt we were always treated as professionals and so the lessons learned there translated well into the real world. Also, having a space like the Brown Grand Theatre in which to perform is such a wonderful asset to anyone’s training.
