SummerCloud County Community College’s Geary County Campus will be offering six summer technology workshops. The morning workshops will include topics ranging from computer basics to building a website.

Participants will be introduced to specific and helpful skills that are commonly needed in college courses and most careers. Whether participants want to improve on-the-job skills, prepare for college courses, or build a website, the series will provide the tools necessary for technology success.

The workshops will all run from 9 a.m. – noon, and the dates are:

• Computer Basics: Talk the Talk; June 8

Learn basic computer vocabulary that will help use, troubleshoot and purchase a computer that fits your needs. This session also includes information about basic computer setup and customization.

• Microsoft Office Suite and File Storage; June 22

Learn the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This session will introduce each program and teaches participants how to use them in the workplace, college courses, or personal tasks. Information regarding how to save and organize files will also be included.

• What in the World Wide Web?; June 29

The Internet is a powerful tool, and this session includes information about privacy, search engine optimization, and email usage. Participants will also learn how to find credible information, as well as free, online sources.

• Just Google It; July 13

Google provides similar products to Microsoft Office that are free and accessible anywhere. Learn how to collaborate with others online, store files for access on any device, and stay organized with meetings, tasks and more.

• Social Media & Fake News; July 27
