Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recently announced the PTK chapter at Cloud County Community College’s Geary County campus has received the 2024 REACH Reward.

The recognition celebrates and rewards Phi Theta Kappa chapters excelling in membership engagement by achieving exceptionally high rates of membership acceptance in the 2024 calendar year.

“Community colleges are centers of development, growth, and quality education, and PTK celebrates the achievements of community college students and creates an environment that encourages learning and success,” said PTK President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner. “We created this program because we strongly believe in the mission of PTK and want as many students as possible to receive the benefits of membership – including scholarships and increased opportunities for engagement with peers and faculty on campus, which lead to higher rates of completion.”

Members of the Geary County chapter will receive PTK graduation stoles to be worn during graduation, and to keep in celebration of their college completion milestone.

Phi Theta Kappa is the first honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. The Society is made up of more than 4.2 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 11 countries, with approximately 240,000 active members in the nation’s colleges.
