The Charles and Marian Cook Series presents Artrageous, a 5-star, internationally touring show that has fans raving, on Tuesday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at the Brown Grand Theatre, 310 W. 6th Street in Concordia.
In accordance with Marian Cook’s wishes, all Cook Series presentations are free and open to the public.
Artrageous is a troupe of misfit artists, singers, dancers, and musicians who started as friends doing street theatre in Vancouver. Together they started the “All and Everything Theater,” a non-profit Children’s Theater focusing on children’s entertainment, street theater and life-sized Bunraku puppetry. This troupe has performed for the likes of Sir Richard Branson, Steve Forbes, and General Colin Powell, and in venues and events all over the world from India to Thailand, and Paris to Austria. They created Artrageous to pay tribute to their roots and share their passion with the world.
Imagine witnessing the creativity of an artist creating a masterpiece before your eyes in mere moments. Combined with captivating vocals, intricate choreography and exciting music, Artrageous takes the audience on a visual journey and a high energy ride of inspiration, creativity, and engagement. The troupe of artists, musicians, singers, and dancers pay tribute to a variety of art forms, icons and musical genres throughout the evening. The result is a uniquely entertaining show culminating in a gallery of finished paintings. A signature of the Artrageous Troupe, from the very beginning of their long history, is interaction and engagement… so be prepared to be a part of the show.
Artrageous merchandise will be available for purchase.
This year marks the 33rd anniversary of the Charles and Marian Cook Series at Cloud County Community College. The Cooks were travelers who wanted to bring the world to those who could not travel themselves. More than 80 events have been presented through the sponsorship of the Cook Foundation and the Division of Humanities, Social Sciences and Business at Cloud. It was always Marian Cook’s wishes that all Cook Series events be free and open to the public.
