Acceptance for admission for international students to Cloud County Community College is at the discretion of the PDSO (Principal Designated School Official) and/or DSO (Designated School Official.)

Step 1 button.

Application and Required Documents

Every International Student requirement must be submitted. A COMPLETE packet of required documents must be scanned and emailed to the Director of Admissions/PDSO, Britni Tremblay, at international@cloud.edu. In the subject line of the email, you must include your full name and anticipated semester and year of attendance. Failure to submit the completed admissions packet will delay the acceptance process.

  • Complete the Application for Admission.
  • Students seeking an F-1 visa, defined as a non-immigrant temporarily in the United States to study full-time at an academic or language institution, must submit the following documents:
    1. Official copy of high school diploma and/or matriculation certificate and official copies of complete high school transcripts
    2. Copy of passport
    3. Official test scores demonstrating proficiency in both oral and written use of the English language. A TOEFL Examination score of 500 (paper based test or PBT), 173 (computer based test of cBT), or 61 (internet based test or iBT) is the minimum requirement for admission, subject to the following exceptions:
      • 548 or higher (PBT), 210 or higher (cBT), or 79 or higher (iBT), will not be required to enroll in ESL courses.
      • 500-547 (PBT), 173-209 (cBT), or 61-78 (iBT) will be required to successfully complete one semester of ESL coursework (ESL II).
      • Other accepted proficiency tests include IELTS, Cambridge, PTE Academic and Online, and Duolingo. Scores will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
      • Exception: Students whose country's official language is English, a secondary English grade and overall grade point average equivalent of "C" or better. If primary and secondary instruction was not in English, an English Language Proficiency score must be provided.
    4. A completed International Student Sponsor Affidavit Form, signed by a financial sponsor (usually a parent or legal guardian). Without signatures from you and your sponsors, your application cannot be processed. Note: If there are multiple account holders on your bank statement, please submit one affidavit from each of the account holders.
    5. An original statement/letter from your bank or other financial institution. The name of the person on the bank statement should match the name of the person identified on the Student Sponsor Affidavit Form.
      • The bank statement/letter must be in English. If the bank statement/letter is not in English, please provide a certified English translation of the document. Your funds must be from a checking, savings, or certificate of deposit account. Note: We do not accept funds such as stocks, investments, retirement, etc.
      • The statement/letter must contain the date, name of account holder(s), and states that there is funding available in the amount of at least $13,704 USD.
      • Bank statement/letter is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
      • The statement/letter must also be signed and stamped by a bank official at the financial institution.
  • Complete a housing application. International students are encouraged to live the first two semesters of studies in the Residence Halls.

To be considered for admission, all required documents must be submitted by June 15 for the fall (August) semester and November 15 for the spring (January) semester.

Acceptance Packet

After the steps above are completed, the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and/or the Designated School Official (DSO) will review the contents and make a decision regarding your admission to Cloud. Please allow up to 14 business days for processing time once all documents have been submitted.

If the decision is favorable, an acceptance packet will be created. The acceptance packet will include your I-20 form (the I-20 is an official document required by the United State Department of Homeland Security to confirm your ability to study in the United States), official letter of acceptance, International Student Health Insurance brochure, and the International Pre-Arrival Checklist.

You will be contacted via email when your acceptance packet is ready for shipment. Cloud County Community College provides an express mailing service called eShipGlobal that allows you to receive your documents from Cloud using FedEx, UPS, or DHL. Shipping of the acceptance packet is done at the expense of the student.

Step 3 button.

US Embassy Appointment

Once you receive your acceptance packet you are ready to pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee and schedule your interview appointment at the nearest US Embassy. It is important to know that visa appointment wait times vary by country. Visit Travel.State.Gov to see your estimated appointment wait time.

Be sure to take your acceptance packet with you to your appointment and be prepared to answer questions about your plans to study at Cloud County Community College. Arrival in the US

It is your responsibility to keep us informed about your status in the process of obtaining your visa and arrival in the United States. Once you have obtained your F-1 visa email the Director of Admissions/PDSO, Britni Tremblay, at international@cloud.edu so we can help you plan for arrival. At a minimum, students should arrive 3-5 working days prior to classes starting date. Students can arrive up to one month prior to classes starting date. This date is indicated by "Earliest Admission Date" on your I-20. 

Upon your arrival to campus, you will need to check in with the Director of Admissions/PDSO, Britni Tremblay, in the Office of Admissions. When checking in, make sure to bring your I-20, passport/visa, I-94 record, and your local address while at Cloud.
