Lavon Brosseau Endowed Chair

The Lavon Brosseau Endowed Chair was established to recognize and promote academic excellence at Cloud County  Community College through an Honors Program. The Honors Program will attract academically gifted students to Cloud, and the linchpin of the Honors Program is outstanding faculty who will ensure quality student learning. The Lavon Brosseau Endowed Chair will enhance instruction and enrich the program.

Lavon Brosseau, endowed chairLavon Brosseau was an exceptional teacher her entire working career, which spanned 29 years. She taught English for 29 years. She taught English for nine of those years at Cloud County Community College. Even in retirement, Lavon continued to mentor, tutor and award scholarships to students. Many of her former students are still in the Cloud area, but she is still in touch with many who now live throughout the country, and all of Kansas. She has helped make dreams come true for many students at Cloud County Community College. A generous contributor to Cloud, her gifts brought about the Brosseau Scholarship Fund, providing scholarship money to numerous young men and women over the years.

The faculty member selected as the Lavon Brosseau Endowed Chair is an exceptional teacher with a demonstrated love of teaching.
