Cynthia Lamberty taught chemistry to college students for 16+ years at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. She mentored several students on their academic journey, and she supervised student research in a variety of areas: Mercury Uptake by Crawfish, The Chemistry of Paints and Pigments, Can You Get Drunk from Hand Sanitizers?, and Use of Molasses as Oil-field Agents. Lamberty provided professional development workshops (independent and with others) for local middle school and high school teachers. She was on the lead team that worked to attain American Chemical Society accreditation for the chemistry program. In 2008, Lamberty obtained a $29,793 grant to convert the Organic laboratory class to all Green Chemistry.

Lamberty is originally from the upper Midwest (South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska) and is excited about being back in the Midwest after 20+ years of living in South Louisiana.
