MEDICATION AIDE

This is a seventy-five hour course designed as a follow-up to the Certified Nurse Aide course and designed to prepare successful participants to become medication aides. Available only to certified nurse aides with an active Kansas license - State Guidelines and Curriculum are followed.

MEDICATION AIDE UPDATE

This course teaches drug actions and interactions, safe handling and administration, legal and ethical dilemmas, and responsibilities of the certified medication aide (CMA). The course meets the CMA continuing education requirements through the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services. This is a 10 contact hour class.

Performance Requirements: Students must be able to communicate/ consult with patients in order to understand the patient's needs.

Eligible students can use military payments (GI Bill, Tuition Assistance) or financial aid (FAFSA, K.HPOP, DCF, Workforce Development) to help pay for the class. Please email Raven Smith raven.smith@cloud.edu for more information.
