This is a seventy-five hour course designed as a follow-up to the Certified Nurse Aide course and designed to prepare successful participants to become medication aides. Available only to certified nurse aides with an active Kansas license - State Guidelines and Curriculum are followed.

Concordia CMA Fall 2022


This course teaches drug actions and interactions, safe handling and administration, legal and ethical dilemmas, and responsibilities of the certified medication aide (CMA). The course meets the CMA continuing education requirements through the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services. This is a 10 contact hour class.

Performance Requirements: Students must be able to communicate/ consult with patients in order to understand the patient's needs.

Academic: If academic adjustment is needed for any type of disability, students should contact the Director of Counseling and Advising Services, located in Student Services. Students requiring auxiliary aids and services need to request accommodation in advance of the start of class.
