When is Multifactor Authentication (MFA) starting?

  • For employees, it will be required starting on June 12.
  • For students, it will be required starting on June 23.

How do I setup MFA?

If you would like a step-by-step guide on setting up your MFA and account security options, use this tutorial:

The first time you login to MY.CLOUD, you are directed to setup your account security options.  MFA will use these same options for the security codes.

You can always access the profile menu on the top right corner of the MY.CLOUD window.  It says, "Hello, «your username»", and when you click it, you will see options for My Account and Change Password.  In the My Account area, you can setup your security questions and how to receive security codes.

How does MFA work?

When you login with your T-Bird username and password, you will be prompted for an extra verification.  The verification will be either phone, email, or an authenticator app.  You will receive a code, normally a number, which you have to enter to complete your login.

This is an example of the verification prompt, where you can choose the option.  Staff and students can choose to use any of these three options, but each option must be setup in the MY.CLOUD account security settings.

Why do we have to use MFA?

Multifactor authentication provides greater security to your student or employee account.  It is an additional way to verify that the person logging in is not a malicious actor.
