A successful transfer involves careful planning and takes time to develop. Begin working on a transfer plan as early as possible, even while you are in high school, to assure you are taking advantage of your best opportunities.

• Meet with the Career Center staff to look at options.
• Explore college majors and careers.
• Explore out-of-classroom learning experiences such as volunteer work, internships, job shadowing and informational interviewing.

Determine which classes/degrees transfer to Cloud County Community College

If you plan to transfer to Cloud, you'll need to know which degrees and classes, including basic or gen ed. courses, transfer to Cloud. What transfers depends on your major and the school you're transferring to. For details, go to http://www.cloud.edu/Academics/Advising/index

Seek Financial Aid and Scholarships

Begin the application process for financial aid and scholarships early. Electronically submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the appropriate deadline. Be aware the financial aid process takes considerable time from filing the FAFSA to receiving your award letter. Start the process early.

Research scholarships and the application process available through Cloud. Some scholarships may require an application process and need documentation of service or activities and letters of recommendation. Students whose materials are received by the priority deadline receive first consideration for scholarships.
