2024 Fall Term Visiting Faculty Program (VFP) program

The Office of Science / US Department of Energy is pleased to announce paid research appointment opportunities for fulltime faculty from areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) during the Fall of 2024. Overall, the Visiting Faculty Program (VFP) goal is to increase the research competitiveness of faculty members and students at institutions of higher education historically underrepresented in the research community in order to expand the workforce that addresses DOE mission areas. The application system for the 2024 Fall Term Visiting Faculty Program (VFP) program is currently open, with all applications due by 05:00 PM Eastern Time on May 22, 2024.

Starting Spring 2023 term, the VFP program will be extended to non-summer terms to encourage faculty’s continued research engagement with DOE national laboratories. During a non-summer term (Spring or Fall), the program will focus on faculty participants only. Through direct collaboration with research staff at DOE host laboratories, VFP appointments provide an opportunity for faculty to develop skills applicable to programs at their home institutions; this helps increase the STEM workforce in DOE science mission areas at institutions historically under-represented within the DOE enterprise. Appointments are for 10 weeks during the Fall term, are open to US Citizens and US Lawful Permanent Residents, include a weekly stipend, reimbursement for one round trip domestic travel to the participant’s host DOE laboratory, and possibilities for a housing allowance.

This intern position will also collaborate closely with designated staff and media partners in the marketing and promotion of the Junction City Brigade and activities associated with the Junction City Community Baseball Club who own and operate the Junction City Brigade. 1. Social Media Coordination – developing and updating Junction City Brigade social media platforms to include, but not limited to, its website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other media to market and promote the Junction City Brigade.

2. Develop, implement, and promote marketing strategies for the Junction City Brigade.

3. Assist with the writing of and production of radio and commercial ads.

4. Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of pre-game, on-field promotions, and post-game actives.

5. This position may also be responsible for photographic and/or video documentation of Junction City Brigade games, events, and other activities.

6. Assist the General Manager with ticket sales, merchandise, concessions, catering and vendors as needed.
