CCCC Star Party set Saturday, March 15

 

(CONCORDIA, KS) -- Cloud County Community College invites stargazers to the Concordia campus on Saturday, March 15 to view interesting arrays of celestial objects in the night sky.  

 

Among featured events at the “Star Party” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. are the planets Saturn and Mars, along with star Aldebaran, the Winter Triangle stars of Sirius, Betelgeuse and Procyon, and the constellation Leo the Lion.

 

Dennis Smith, CCCC physical science instructor and Earl Bane Observatory director, invites the public to the free viewings.

 

The observatory is located on the CCCC Concordia campus near the soccer fields, up the hill from the college entrance flagpole.
