(CONCORDIA, KS)-- Karie Hoover of Wichita has been chosen as the Rotary College Student of the Month for January. Comments offered on her nomination forms included, “Karie is an example of a person who goes the “extra mile” and has committed herself already to “Service to Others.” Karie is happy, enthusiastic and always helpful. As a CNA at the Republic County Hospital, Karie forms dedicated and caring relationships with the patients and their families, often staying in close contact after patients have gone home or even to long term care. Another offered, “Although Karie works as a CNA, she finds time to be one of the Captains of the women’s soccer team, and still be an outstanding student. Karie does all of these very well.”
Karie plans to finish her associate’s degree and transfer to Baker University to pursue studies in biochemical molecular science. She would like to attend medical school to become a doctor and after having a family would like to do missionary work outside the United States promoting breast cancer awareness. Karie plays soccer for CCCC and works at Republic County Hospital as a CNA. Karie graduated from Wichita SouthEast High School. Her parents are Timothy and JoAnn Hoover. Karie’s fiancé is Cody Reiling from Wichita, KS.
