Cloud County Community College to dedicate new flagpole on hilltop

(CONCORDIA, KS)  – The public is invited to the dedication of a new flagpole atop a hill south of Cloud County Community College’s Concordia campus on Veteran’s Day, Monday, Nov. 12.

The ceremony begins at 2 p.m.   Attendees are asked to arrive beginning at 1:40 p.m. to ride shuttle buses to the site from the parking lot near the college’s Welcome Center off College Drive.    In case of increment weather, the ceremony will be moved to Cook Theatre at the college.

Also participating will be the local American Legion Post and the college’s Rolling Thunder band.

The new flagpole, a project initiated by CCCC staff members Chet and Ginny Anson, will be illuminated with solar-powered equipment and will feature both the American and Kansas flags.   The American flag will have been flown briefly in Iraq.

For more information, contact Bob Maxson, CCCC vice president of administrative services, (785) 243-1435, ext. 343.
