College Goal Sunday --
Event offers high school seniors aid application help, scholarship chance
(CONCORDIA, KS) -- High school seniors contemplating college can get free help with federal financial aid applications and a chance to win a $500 scholarship at “College Goal Sunday” Feb. 10.
The event, coordinated by the Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, is from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cloud County Community College’s Concordia campus. Four college-bound students at each of 19 College Goal Sunday locations, including CCCC, will win a scholarship to the college or trade school of their choice.
Participants are encouraged but not required to bring parents, 2007 tax returns, W-2 forms and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Persons can apply for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. Participants who bring their completed 2007 federal income tax return forms can work with financial aid officers that day to file the necessary federal aid application information online. Those without complete forms will receive step-by-step instructions on how to apply.
For more information, contact Sherry Campbell, CCCC director of student financial aid, (800) 729-5101, ext. 284 or log on to www.collegegoal.org.
