Cloud County Community College sets two December Star Parties
(CONCORDIA, KS) -- Cloud County Community College invites stargazers to the Concordia campus on the evenings of Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 to view interesting arrays of celestial objects in the night sky. Among featured events will include the Planet Mars; the Stars Betelgeuse, Rigel, Pleiades (The Seven Sisters), Great Square of Pegasus, and the Orion Constellation.
Dennis Smith, CCCC physical science instructor and Earl Bane Observatory director, invites the public to the “Star Parties”, free viewings from 8 to 10 p.m. both evenings.
The observatory is located on the CCCC Concordia campus near the soccer fields, up the hill from the college entrance flagpole.
