Second “Scooter for Scholars” to be auctioned
CONCORDIA—With the rise in prices of gasoline, it’s no wonder motor scooters have gained popularity among people of all ages.
That is one of the reasons why Womack Sunshine Kawasaki again has chosen to partner with the Cloud County Community College Foundation by providing a gift of a 2007 Schwinn Motor Scooter for the purpose of raising funds for scholarships. This year, the scooter will be on the list of items up for bid at the 2008 Scholarship Auction.
“We are elated with the Womack’s continued support of our fundraising efforts,” commented Tammy Budreau, executive director of the Foundation. “We predict the scooter to be a very popular item at the Auction.”
The sporty scooter features an electric start with an automatic transmission and a one-year warranty for parts and labor. The scooter’s main feature is its ability to attain 117 miles per gallon of gas.
Judy Womack, co-owner of Womack Sunshine Kawasaki commented, “We are excited to partner with Cloud County Community College in this scholarship fund raising project for a second year. We believe the College is an important part of this community and being able to help provide scholarships for students makes it twice as nice.”
The scooter will be visible at various College and community events throughout the year and on permanent display at Womack Sunshine Kawaski until the Auction. All proceeds will support the Cloud County Community College Foundation’s general scholarship fund.
