Cloud County Community College Concordia campus launches evening advising

(CONCORDIA, KS) --  Cloud County Community College’s Concordia campus will begin offering evening advising starting Jan. 17.

The college’s award winning Advisement Center is extending its regular hours to offer evening advising from 5 to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.   The extended schedule will be offered during Spring and Fall semesters.

“We want to make it convenient for a prospective or current student to visit with an advisor, either in person or by phone,” said Joel Figgs, CCCC dean of enrollment management.  “This will be especially helpful to our current evening students but we also encourage prospective students who work fulltime during the day to take advantage of evening advising.”

CCCC faculty advisors and other advising center staff are cross-trained to answer general questions about all degrees offered at Cloud.

“We’ve set up this new service in two ways,” Figgs said. “Advisors can work with students who don’t have a specific major in mind or future evening appointments can be scheduled for specific areas of study.”

The schedule for faculty advisors representing their specific fields of study will be published on Cloud’s Web site at www.cloud.edu and in the college’s latest Community Education Spring tabloid.

Persons are encouraged to make advising appointments in advance by calling

(800) 729-5101, ext. 275.

To gain the most from an advising appointment, individuals are encouraged to have a current Cloud Admissions Application on file prior to their appointment.   Prospective students may apply online at www.cloud.edu.

Individuals with college credits from other institutions also should submit official transcripts to the CCCC Student Records office, PO Box 1002, Concordia, KS 66901, prior to visiting with an advisor.
