CCCC Foundation announces endowments
(CONCORDIA, KS) – The Cloud County Community College Foundation announces several new endowments and memorials established in the last year.
Robert D. Leif Family Scholarship – A $7,000 endowment established on Aug. 8, 2007, by Mrs. Bethine Leif in memory of her husband, Robert D. Leif. The person selected must be a Nebraska high school graduate and registered as a full-time student at Cloud County Community College, Concordia Campus. The recipient must be seriously considering a major in architecture, engineering or education and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Dean and Wayne Berneking Family Endowed Scholarship – A $3,000 endowment established on Oct. 12, 2007, by Brian Berneking, a Cloud County Community College alumnus, as a gift for his parents, Dean and Wayne Berneking . The person selected must be a high school graduate and registered as a full-time student at the Cloud County Community College, Concordia Campus. The recipient must be seriously considering a career in education and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Concordia Optimist Scholarship-A $6,000 endowment established on April 1, 2008, by the Concordia Optimist Club to help high school students needing financial assistance further their education. The person selected must be a high school graduate and registered as a first time, full-time student at the Cloud County Community College, Concordia Campus. The student must be a Cloud County resident with a 2.5 grade point average.
Lloyd and Myra Carlson Memorial Scholarship – A $3,000 endowment finalized on June 11, 2007, by their daughter, Karen Nusser. The person selected must be a high school graduate and registered as a full-time student at the Cloud County Community College, Concordia Campus. The recipient must be seeking a degree in education or agriculture, a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and be a resident of Republic or Cloud County.
Norman R. Ramsey Endowment – An endowment in the beginning stages, it is considered a Category B endowment in which the donor, Betty Ramsey, wife of the former Norman R. Ramsey, has made an initial donation and established her criteria for the endowment and is working toward the final amount of $3,000 required for an endowment. The person selected will be seeking a degree in athletic training.
Cheryl Scott Memorial Scholarship in Nursing – A$250 memorial scholarship fundedannually by Doyle Scott in memory of his wife, Cheryl. The person selected must be a second-year nursing student pursuing an RN degree, a resident of Cloud County, demonstrating financial need and maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
“The college, Foundation Board of Directors, and staff are very excited that each of these donors has taken the opportunity to invest his or her dollars to help our students,”CCCC President Richard Underbakke said.
