Cloud County Community College to host USDA energy program workshop
(CONCORDIA, KS) – Loan and grant programs to fund energy efficiency and renewable energy systems for agricultural producers, business owners and community facilities will be the focus of a Jan. 10 USDA workshop at Cloud County Community College’s Concordia campus.
The college is partnering with the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development to sponsor a North Central Kansas Energy Program Workshop beginning at 9 a.m. The free morning workshop is designed to inform business owners, agricultural producers, public entities, lenders, realtors and economic development councils of the funding opportunities for energy projects. Opportunities for individual consulting also will be available following the formal presentations.
Projects identified at the workshop may be eligible for assistance under USDA’s Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvement Program, the Community Facility Program and the Value-Added Producer Grant Program.
The workshop features opening remarks from Chuck Banks, USDA Rural Development state director, and Richard Boyles, area director.
