Clearinghouse to list rental properties available in Cloud County
(CONCORDIA, KS) -- The Cloud County Register of Deeds office will serve as a clearinghouse for countywide rental property information through the end of 2008.
Landlords in all Cloud County communities may contact Judy Lambert, Register of Deeds, to list their properties in an effort to ease an anticipated local housing shortage.
Projected demands for local rental units due to upcoming major construction projects prompted local officials and CloudCorp to schedule a Jan. 10 public forum in Concordia on the housing issue. The clearinghouse issue was among suggestions at the forum.
Construction of an ethanol plant and large wind farm in the Cloud County area is expected to contribute to a demand for temporary rental properties across the county and region. An estimated 450 construction workers will be working in Cloud County in 2008 from April through December.

e-mail, jlambert@cloudcountyks.org. Prospective tenants may obtain a list at Lambert’s office in the Cloud County Courthouse during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The information also will be posted on the county’s Web site at www.cloudcountyks.org.
