Cloud County Community College announces commencement activities, graduates

 

(CONCORDIA, KS) --- Cloud County Community College commencement activities are scheduled Friday, May 16. President Richard Underbakke announced 245 students will graduate from the college.

 

The event recognizes graduates from the Concordia and Geary County campuses and from outreach locations.

 

The Nurses’ Pinning ceremony will be at 4 p.m., May 16 at Arley Bryant Gymnasium on the Concordia campus.

 

All graduates, family and friends are invited to a reception in the CCCC cafeteria on the Concordia campus from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., May 16.

 

Outdoor commencement exercises begin at 7 p.m. at the Harold M. Clark Stadium, corner of 11th and Republican streets, Concordia. In case of inclement weather, commencement exercises will be moved to the Arley Bryant Gymnasium at the college’s Concordia campus.

 

The commencement speaker will be Jarold “Jerry” Boettcher, Beloit.  Boettcher

was appointed to the Kansas Board of Regents by Governor Kathleen Sebelius in 2007. He is the president of Boettcher Enterprises, Inc., Boettcher Supply, Inc., and Boettcher Aerial, Inc., which together employ 40 Kansans in the Beloit area.

Boettcher’s career has included work as an investment analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette, in New York City, and at Waddell & Reed in Kansas City. He has served as a Trustee of the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System from 1991 to present, including terms as chair and vice chair. He has also served on various committees of the Kansas State University Foundation since 1981.

Boettcher received a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from Kansas State University and a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.
