“Hollywood” theme for April 19 CCCC Foundation Auction

(CONCORDIA, KS) – Gifts are arriving daily for the 28th Cloud County Community College Foundation Auction scheduled Saturday, April 19 at the Concordia National Guard Armory.

The annual auction generates funds for student scholarships through the foundation.  Previous auctions have netted a grand total of $528,703.

“Businesses and individuals in Concordia and the surrounding communities have been very generous with contributions for this event,” said Tammy Budreau, foundation executive director. “Thanks to their support and the generosity of the auction attendees, we are able to offer a fun and entertaining evening to raise funds for scholarships.”

“Hollywood Premiere” is this year’s theme.  Decorations will resemble the red carpet in Hollywood, Calif.  Hors d’oeuvres and a formal meal will be served along with opportunities to bid on silent and live auction items.  Auction goers also will be given the opportunity to try their luck at winning a diamond tennis bracelet.

Among donated items for the auction are two round-trip tickets to any city in the continental U.S. serviced by Southwest Airlines, four nights at a Breckenridge condominium for eight to 10 people, a Schwinn Scooter, honorary coach for a

Cloud T-Bird men’s basketball game, wine tasting party for 12 people, golf packages, and Kansas State University and CCCC Thunderbird items.  Auction items will be on display in the Radio Shack window in downtown Concordia two weeks prior to the event.  The list of items along with the names of the business and individual donors will be published in the Concordia Blade Empire prior to the auction and in the evening auction program.

Lance Lagasse and Joe Odette, both of Concordia, will be auctioneers.

The April 19 event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction followed by dinner at 7 p.m., and the live auction at 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $40 per person.  To make reservations, call the CCCC Foundation Office at 243-1435, ext. 232.
