Linn, Pike Valley sweepstakes winners at Cloud Aggie Days
(CONCORDIA, KS) Linn High School was overall sweepstakes winner at the 2008 Aggie Days sponsored by Cloud County Community College March 6. Second place sweepstakes went to Pike Valley High School.
Competition, sponsored by the CCCC agriculture department, took place on the Concordia campus. The colleges agriculture instructors are Dr. Bill McGuire, Pat Damman and Josh Coltrain.
Teams involving 331 students representing 20 senior high schools in Kansas and Nebraska competed in eight categories. Schools represented were Abilene; Blue Valley-Randolph; Buhler; Chapman; Clay Center; Clifton-Clyde; Concordia; Ell-Saline; Eustis-Farnam, Neb.; Jewell; Kensington; Linn; Marysville; Minneapolis; Pike Valley; Quivira Heights; Republic County; Riley County, Salina Central and Wabaunsee.
Results were:
Agronomy: Team Eustis-Farnam, first; Washington, second; Linn, third. Individual Jared Aden, Eustis-Farnam; Michael Welch, Washington; Jake Frager, Washington.
Horse: Team Clay Center, first; Buhler, second; Pike Valley, third. Individual Taylor Schotte, Marysville, first; Devon Stewart, Pike Valley, second; Ethan James, Clay Center, third.
Floriculture: Team Washington, first; Riley County, second; Marysville, third.
Individual Grace Unruh, Clay Center, first; Cali Parker, Riley County, second; Bridget Baker, Washington, third.
Dairy Foods: Team Ell-Saline, first; Linn, second; Minneapolis, third.
