(CONCORDIA, KS)-- Rotary Student of the Month
Cheyenne Niehues of Goff, Kansas, has been chosen as the Rotary College Student of the Month for February. Comments offered on her nomination forms included, “Cheyenne is a student who quietly goes about her work, listens to suggestions, and completes assignments to meet or exceed expectations. Most students would be exhausted just from the thought of completing a runner’s workout, but Cheyenne leads by example in her work ethic. This work ethic shows her ability to focus on a goal, whether it be in the classroom or on the distance running course. As a peer tutor, Cheyenne provides support and assistance for other students who need help and a positive word of encouragement.”
Cheyenne serves as the Vice President of Scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa, is a Peer Tutor in the Learning Skills Center, and is member of Cloud’s track and cross county teams. Cheyenne qualified as a freshman for the national indoor and outdoor meets as a member of the 4 x 800 meter relay team. She qualified this year for the national indoor meet as a member of the 4 x 800 meter relay team as well. Cheyenne has been named both as a freshman and sophomore to the “Coaches Association Track and Field All-American Team” for academic excellence.
Cheyenne plans to finish her Associate Degree in Business and then transfer to Washburn to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Business Finance. Cheyenne’s career goals include becoming a financial planner. Cheyenne graduated from Wetmore High School. Her parents are Wayne and Nancy Niehues.
