Please read the following information thoroughly!
- Applicants to the associate degree level shall be a graduate of a practical nursing program. Verification of licensure to practice (from the state of residence) is mandatory by August 1.
- The applicant shall take a standardized entrance examination for purposes of placement in the program. The PN-GAP is currently used. An applicant may retake the exam to improve his/her score regardless of the initial score received. A predetermined minimum score must be achieved. The composite score will be used for ranking purposes for class selection. The applicant shall pay the required fee each time the test is taken.
- All applicants shall have C or better in all required general education and other plan of study (non-nursing) courses.
- The grade requirement for first year nursing courses is a B or higher. Those who do not meet this standard will be required to establish a successful nursing practice and may apply to the ADN program after one year.
- There are specific abilities that are critical to nursing student success. Students must demonstrate the ability to meet technical standards, with or without reasonable accommodations. Please review the Essential Functions information provided.
