Mark Whisler, Instructor, Department Chair

After careers in restaurant and retail management, Mark Whisler went for graduate work at the University of South Carolina. Whisler came to Cloud in 1999, and after one year, assumed the position of department chair.

Whisler has published an article, which he coauthored with fellow Mathematics Instructor Tim Warkentine. In addition, Whisler has been the secretary/recorder for the college's core competency group.

Judy Elder came to Cloud in 2005. She also assists students in the Learning Skills Center.

David Shirkey, Instructor

David Shirkey began teaching at Cloud in 2000, as an Instructor in Mathematics. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education at Kansas State University.

Tim Warkentin, Instructor

Tim Warkentin started his teaching career at Cloud County Community College in 2000. As an instructor in mathematics, Warkentin teaches a variety of classes from Elementary Algebra to Calculus III. Warkentin also works with Mathematica software on a regular basis as well as Texas Instruments calculator programs.

In addition to professional projects and interests, Warkentin is CCCC Faculty Association Treasurer.

Lisa Huber, Lab Coordinator and Department Secretary

Lisa Huber returned to Cloud in 1999 to work as lab assistant and math and science department secretary.

Huber enjoys attending her boys' sporting events and golfing and fishing with the family.
