Associate of Applied Science Degree
The degree can be used for seeking immediate employment in the criminal justice field. This versatile degree consists of a minimum of 44 semester hours of criminal justice and related courses, supplemented by 18 hours of general education.

State and local law enforcement agencies as well as correctional agencies are examples of employers hiring those with the Associate of Applied Science degree. However, those completing the degree requirements are not restricted to government work. Many industries and other private concerns now employ qualified professionals who are skilled in security and loss prevention.

Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree
The Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree in Criminal Justice is designed for transfer to a four-year institution. Each transfer university accepts different courses to fulfill requirements. Students should check with the Advisement Center or the criminal justice advisor at CCCC before enrolling in courses.
