College History

Cloud County Community College was founded in 1965. It is one of nineteen community colleges in the state of Kansas.

1965: College founded as Cloud County Junior College with Arley A. Bryant, president.
1967: Commons built.
1968: Campus moved to present site.
1990: Conference Center constructed to accommodate the community education program and other meetings.
1991: Marian Cook provided $250,000 to endow The Charles and Marian Cook Series in International Culture. The College theatre was dedicated "The Cook Theatre" in their honor.
1996: The Foundation and the College celebrated donors who contributed the first $1 million to the foundation since 1988.
1997: Ground was broken in June for a $1.5 million, three-building facility in Junction City which will be known as the Geary County Campus of Cloud County Community College.
