Ill bring it to the Nov. meeting. or go to the websight at www.DiscountSchoolSupply.com or 1-800-627-2829 I have some things to share from the NAEYC conference that look interesting in purchasing. Discount School supply page 62 - item: slick paint . Have you tried art tissue paper on pg. 75 - great to use with spray bottles . Children spray a white sheet of paper with water, then stick tissue paper - let dry- tissue paper falls off - becomes a very pretty art project to introduce fall colors. 10/27/2008 |

Up to last year, this survey was mailed to all childcare providers in the state. This year, it has been made available for input over the Internet. Note the responses do not require that you identify yourself. This survey is used by KACCRRA to help it develop and gauge provider programs and their delivery. Please take time out of your busy day to answer the survey. Paste the following link www.kaccrra.org in your browser and click on the link for the Early Childhood Educator survey. | user: JULIE I made this poem to go with the pocketful of kisses idea that I shared at the last meeting. You may want to make small pockets. I learned adult sized pockets take a lot of candy to get close to a pocketful. A pocketful of kisses and hugs for the family that I love. When these run out, if you don’t mind, Ill give you some of the human kind. Happy Valentines Day! 2/12/2008 |

| user: Vanessa Melinda, Leah, Jenny and I went to Salina last night to the listening tour for the rewrite of the daycare regulations. If you have recieved a letter in the mail asking for your input you can use that to let your thoughts be known. It is very important that we all respond for the re-writing of the regs. If the larger communities respond we will have regulations that are better suited to large cities rather than rural areas. 10/30/2007 |

| user: MoMo http://www.naccrra.org/ Interesting website for parents as well as providers. 8/24/2007 |
| user: DW When you do your lesson plans do you pick a monthly theme or a weekly one? I like the lesson plan page with blank areas to fill in with different ideas and activities to enhance whatever theme is used. I also like to ask myself what did the kids touch(feel) today, smell today, taste today, hear today, see today to make it a lesson to remember and talk about at home with the parents. 8/14/2007 |
| user: MoMo Yes I puchase all the craft and art supplies. I have a yearly enrollment fee parent pay to help cover costs such as insurance and copies of paperwork. You could use this to purchase art and craft supplies if you felt the need to. I have thought about asking the parents to bring "school supplies" also but, have never since they are 100% deductable. 8/13/2007 |
| user: Kim Staroscik Hello Ladies! I am trying to put together some ideas for the lesson plans for October when we meet for our September meeting. Do you WANT them presented on a lesson plan page or do would you rather have them offered more like ideas???? (ideas grouped together; songs on a page, art on a page, science...ect...) I just know that we all have our own way of doing our own cirriculums, and we talked about haveing everyone bring ideas, so I would like some input as to how YOU want the information presented? I think it would be better to offer a lesson plan page and maybe leave a few blank areas so that providers can add in additional ideas "brought to the table" that "move" them. Make sense?? Anyway, let me know what you think. Have a GREAT one!!!! 8/8/2007 |
| user: DW Do you supply all your own art and craft supplies? Do you include a yearly cost for them in your registration fee? With school starting I was considering asking if the parents would like to buy an extra box of crayons or markers and such for the daycare when they purchase their school supplies. 8/3/2007 |

| user: MoMo Play dough Combine in a saucepan 1 cup flour, 2 tsp. cream of tarter, and 1/2 cup salt. Combine 1 cup water, 1 TB.vegetable oil, and food coloring (or it can be added while kneading later). Slowly stir liquid into flour mixture. Cook for 3 minutes over medium heat until mixture pulls away from sides of pan. (resembles mashed potatoes) Cool slightly. Knead and allow for creative play. Store in a covered container at room temperature. 7/12/2007 |
| user: MoMo When your own children are sick??? What a dilema. When my children are sick they usually just want to be with Mom and not want to share me with anyone else. One of the reasons I chose to stay at home and open my own daycare was so I could teach and take care of my own children. Therefore, I close to take care of my children. I do let my parents know when I enroll them that I could possibly be closed for a week at a time, if we get sick, because I have 3 children close to the same age. My families have had good back-up plans. Just remember they are only little once. 7/12/2007 |

| user: Ray Anderson If you haven’t done so, we would like you to complete the Early Childhood Educator Survey. This year we did it differently than last year when we sent it out via regular mail to all providers. It is online at www.kaccrra.org. It is anonymous. KACCRA depends on this information to assess the R&Rs and to determine training needs, etc. We sent this information out in our last newsletter – KACCRRA indicates few responses have been received so far. So help us out if you can! Thanks. Ray Early Childhood Educator Survey We want to know how we are doing and how we can serve you better. Whether your facility is a Child Care Center,Preschool, Family Child Care Home, School-Age Program or Head Start Center, we want to hear from you. Each earlychildhood educator in your facility is encouraged to complete a survey. The Kansas Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (KACCRRA) would like to find out about your experiences as an early childhood educator/child care provider. We gather this information annually in order to assess the R&R services you receive and to assist your local R&R in planning professional development events that would meet your needs. The information that you provide is anonymous and will not be associated with individuals or programs. We have scheduled the survey to be available through the KACCRRA website at www.kaccrra.org from January 2nd through March 31, 2007. If you have questions about the survey contact the KACCRRA office toll free outside the Salina area at 877-678-2548 or in Salina at 785-823-3343. 3/7/2007 |

| user: MoMo Does anyone have any suggestions for an 11 month old with seperation anxiety. The provider is working with Mom and has shortened the length of time he is attending but has increased the number of days he will be in a daycare setting. I have given suggestions such as comfort items, playing seperation games such as peek a boo and where is the object/child, photos of family members and making sure Mom is saying good bye. This child has not been cared for out of the home before and therefore it is his first experience with daycare. The provider and parent have both spent time in each others environment with the child involved. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 5/13/2005 |

Then make lime jello and serve with a dallop of cool whip. This compliments the colors of the Ireland flag(green, white, orange). The kids loved it! You could substitute 7-up, but the sherbert is sweet enough that they compliment each other nicely. 3/18/2005 |

It is Leprechaun Pudding. 1 oz. box of sugar fee instant pistachio dry pudding (1 box per 5 children), 1/2 cup milk per child, 1 small resealable bag per child, and a spoon per child. Give each child a resealable bag and in it put 1 T. dry pudding mix and 1/2 cup milk. Close the bag and have each child shake and squeeze until desired. Then enjoy with a spoon.
