Steven Given has coached a few teams and has played on several college teams. He played in Europe when he was 15. He was contacted to try out for the U.S. Virgin Island National Team in 1997. Steven played for Hesston until a season-ending injury occurred. He also played for a club team at Emporia State University. He has coached club teams for Emporia State University, Valley High School in Alabama, and Barclay College in Haviland, Kansas. Steven was an intern coach at Johnson County for the Men’s team last year.
Steven has taken a brand-new high school team from a losing year to missing the playoffs by one game. He coached Barclay College to a 5th place winner in the NCCAA Playoffs. Steven holds an NSCAA National Coaching License and a regional Goalkeeping License. He will be receiving the national license in July. Steven had a chance to try out for the Wichita Wings in 2000 and didn’t make it. The Wings folded after that year.
Steven, and his wife Megan, married in October of 2007. They have no children.
