Coach Eshbaugh enters his 4th season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach and 8th overall at Cloud County Community College. He brings 13 years of Head Coaching experience to the table. Eshbaugh assisted the Thunderbirds for four seasons, prior to taking the helm. Coach Eshbaugh has led the Thunderbirds to a combined record of 58-37. He has led the T-Birds to two Top 3 finishes in the KJCCC Western Division. His 2010-2011 team finished third in the nation in Team GPA with a 3.16. His 2011-2012 group won 25 games and made it to the Region VI semifinals.

Eshbaugh's recruiting efforts at Cloud County have helped to produce 5 first team, 4 second team and 6 honorable mention KJCCC West performers. Two of which were named KJCCC West "Freshman of the Year". In addition, Eshbaugh helped produce 4 first team, 4 second team, and 2 honorable mention All-Region VI selections. During his career, Coach Eshbaugh has had 57 former players sign at 4-year schools, including 23 at the NCAA Division I level.

Coach E, as his players call him, constantly works on innovative ways to make his players better. He is always finding and creating new strength and core workouts for the off-season. The Men's basketball program consistently shows improvements in strength, vertical, speed, and stamina. His skill and development drills are designed to build each player's skill level. Many of his practice drills and overall basketball concepts are sought by fellow coaching peers, including High School and 4-year College Coaches.

Eshbaugh began his coaching career at Eudora High School, where he coached the Cardinals to the best four-year combined record in school history. Following Eudora, Eshbaugh took over the program at Topeka West High School, and over the course of five seasons, led the Chargers to three state final fours, two league titles, and a combined record of 78-39.

Eshbaugh, and his wife Amy, are both originally from Topeka, KS and now reside in Concordia with their two daughters, Jordan and Mykah.

Lance Carter is in his fourth season as the assistant men's basketball coach at Cloud. He has been a part of two top 3 finishes in the KJCCC West Regular Season in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. The 2010-2011 team finished third in the nation with a team GPA of 3.16. While the 2011-2012 team won 25 games and made it to the Regional VI semifinals.

Coach Carter works primarily with the post players during the season. He also helps in off season workouts and condition. He has helped 17 Cloud County basketball players sign at 4-year schools. Including 9 at the NCAA Division I level.

Prior to his arrival at Cloud, Carter lived in Austin, Texas for eight years. He spent his time there working individually with players from Central Texas developing skill level and coaching travel teams. He has worked with three current NBA players as well as 34 current and former college basketball players.

Carter is a graduate of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He played at Mercer from 1995-1997 under Bill Hodges. Prior to that, he played at Allen County Community College in Iola, KS during the 1994-1995 season.

Carter served as an assistant coach at Colby Community College in 1999-2000. During the season of 2000-2001, Carter was the assistant at Fort Scott Community College.

Assistant Coach Spencer Farha

Spencer Farha was born and raised in Concordia, Kansas. He enjoyed a successful playing career at Concordia High School before heading to Bethany College, where he was a four-year letter winner, a two-year starter, and a team captain. He was also a member of the National Runner Up Team in 2003.

This is his 4th year as an assistant coach at Cloud, while it's his 6th year working as the school's Student Retention Specialist.

Spencer is married to wife Amber and they have three sons: Macon, Jaden, and Carson.


Assistant Coach Garrett Farha

Garrett Farha graduated from Concordia High School in 2002. He then played two seasons at Cloud County (2002-2004) under Coach Kevin Muff before finishing his playing career at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania (2004-2006) for Coach Bobby Jones.

Passing became Garrett's calling card over both his high school and collegiate careers. He led the state of Kansas (All Classes) in assists as both a Junior and Senior at Concordia High School. He then finished 3rd in the nation in assists as a Sophomore at Cloud County. He followed that up by finishing 9th in the nation in assists at the Division 1 level during his Junior year at Saint Francis, while also leading the conference in 3-point shooting (47%).

Garrett is married to former Cloud County Point Guard Amber (Hein) Farha (2002-2004). They have two boys: Grayson, age 3 1/2 and Baron, age 2, with a 3rd boy due in November 2013. Garrett has been a part-time assistant with the team since the arrival of Eshbaugh and Carter in 2010.
