2014 Unique Scholarship Auction – April 5, 2014
“Denim and Diamonds” will be theme of 34th Annual Scholarship Auction
Reservations are coming in for the 34th Annual Scholarship Auction to be held Saturday, April 5th, at the Cloud County Fairgrounds in Concordia. This year’s event will be themed ‘Denim and Diamonds’ and will boast a more casual feel.
The CCCC Foundation, along with a committee of extraordinary volunteers, has put a new twist to this exciting event. Along with a new venue, there will be a buffet style meal with attire being dressy casual. “The auction committee and Foundation staff have been working hard to bring a renewed interest to an already great event,” said Kim Reynolds, CCCC Foundation Executive Director, “If you have never attended or have not recently attended, we would like to encourage you to join us for an incredible evening.”
The Foundation will also be holding an online auction for those who may not be able to make the live event. Items will be available to view and bid on at www.biddingforgood.com/ccccfoundation. The online auction will begin March 14 at 8:00 am and end April 4 at midnight. There will be many outstanding trips, unique experiences, home décor, and much more. As always, 100% of all Auction proceeds will go directly to the Cloud County Community College General Scholarship Fund, thereby making CCCC an option for many students who otherwise would not be able to attend college.
A large variety of items have already been received by the Foundation Office. Auction items will be on display at Feldkamp’s Furniture in downtown Concordia and an entire list of items will be published in a full page advertisement in the Blade-Empire.The April 5th event will begin with the silent auction at 5:30 p.m., dinner following from 6 to 8 p.m. and the live auction beginning at 8 p.m. Greg Askren will be the auctioneer. Ticket prices are $35 per person for a meal, appetizers, and open bar. Full tables of eight are available for $260. Anyone interested in donating or who would like to attend the auction, please call the Foundation Office at 243-1435, ext. 235.
