Music Ensembles

INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLES:

North Central Kansas Community Band: The N.C.K. Community Band is open to musicians of all ages and experience. The band performs in concert both on and off campus. Their repertoire features the traditional literature for the concert band including transcriptions, marches, and contemporary works. For more information, contact Hannah Draper Burnett

Cloud Kicks Jazz Band: This ensemble performs for community functions as well as on-campus concerts. They perform literature from the Big Band Era as well as modern jazz ensemble repertoire. Additionally, the Kicks Band is featured each summer at the Concordia Music Festival.

Thunderheads Jazz Band: The Thunderheads is the newest group at CCCC, comprised of students who dig big band music in jazz, latin, and rock styles. This group performs on-campus twice a year and is open to all full-time students.

Rolling Thunder Band: Rolling Thunder performs at Cloud County events, including athletic contests, pep rallies, concerts, and other special events.

Cloud Brass: This chamber ensemble performs at on-campus and community events. The group features a flexible instrumentation from 4 to 15 members and is featured at CCCC graduation.

Bent Wind: This ensemble performs at on-campus and community events and features traditional and modern literature for the saxophone choir.


 

CHORAL ENSEMBLES:

Chamber Singers: The flagship choir of Cloud County Community College, performing for college, community and area events. Emphasis is placed on performance, literature and musicianship. Rehearsals are held three times weekly. This ensemble performs frequently.
Audition required.  Rehearsals: M/W/F 1:00-1:55

Concert Choir: A large, mixed-voice ensemble that also performs for collegiate and community events. Emphasis is placed on developing musical skills, exploring diverse musical literature, and offering a challenging and satisfying musical experience. Rehearsals are held three times weekly.  
No audition is required. Rehearsals: M/W/F: 12:00-12:55

Cloud County Community Chorale: The community choir of Concordia and North Central Kansas. Comprised of singers from throughout North Central Kansas, the Chorale emphasizes the ideal of the "singing city" -- friends and neighbors gathered together to rehearse and perform music from different time periods, with added emphasis on fostering arts and music within Concordia and the broader region. Rehearsals are held once weekly with performances throughout the year. Interested singers ages 18-90 are encouraged to join us!  
No audition is required -- all are welcome. Rehearsals: Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
