PRESIDENT
Cloud County Community College

Strong preference will be given to applicants who possess:
1. An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution;
2. Prior teaching experience at the community college level;
3. Progressive, administrative leadership experience in higher education at a community college or technical college


 

OVERVIEW - BASIC FUNCTION
To serve as chief executive officer of the college responsible for the recommendation and implementation of sound policies and practices in all administrative, fiscal, and academic affairs as approved by the Board of Trustees.

DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the president is the chief executive officer responsible for the following:
- Support the mission of the college
- Provide leadership and management of Cloud County Community College in conjunction with an administrative team that includes senior level employees
- Facilitate the development and implementation of the college goals and objectives
- Coordinate short and long range plans for best use of resources
- Promote a productive academic and service environment
- Promote the college as an active participant in the area's economic development
- Provide oversight for administering the budget
- Provide supervision in the administration of collective bargaining agreements
- Act as spokesperson for the college

- Insuring the successful implementation of the current strategic plan while preparing and leading the development of the next
- Practicing fiscal responsibility and seeking alternate revenue sources to ensure the college's continued financial stability
- Providing leadership as the college prepares for the November 2020 Higher Learning Commission accreditation review
- Sustaining and expanding partnerships with Business and Industry; higher educational institutions; K-12 education; and local, state, and federal governmental agencies
- Addressing the comprehensive needs of a multi-campus college encompassing a predominately rural 12-county service area
- Fostering high expectations for achievement and displays a commitment to rigorous career and transfer academic standards, faculty excellence, and responsive student services
- Leading the college through proactive expansion of enrollment in an increasingly competitive environment
